Janet Sue Shrout Newman

Janet Sue Shrout Newman, 86, a resident of Shinnston, passed from this life on Tuesday, February 22, 2021, at her home.  

 

Janet was born Tuesday, February 4, 1936, in Parsons, a daughter of the late Turner Melvin Shrout and Ellasue Shrout.  On June 24, 1956, in Parsons, she was married to the late Herbert “Jerry” Newman, Jr., who preceded her in death. 

 

Left to cherish Janet’s memory are three daughters, Melissa Smith, Cindy Lewis and husband, Scott, and Shelley Rardon, a son, Jay Newman and wife, Kelly, two granddaughters, Sarah Kille and Carleigh Lewis, a grandson, Parker Newman, three great-granddaughters, Ariah, Alanna and Alexa, a brother, David Shrout and wife, Wilda, and several nieces and nephews.

 

Preceding Janet in death besides her parents and husband, was a grandson, Gabriel Smith, and a brother, James Shrout.

 

Janet was a graduate of Parsons High School with the Class of 1954. She had various jobs, the latest being with Fazoli’s in Huntington.  Janet enjoyed watching movies and especially loved spending time with her family.  

 

Visitation was held at Hostetler Funeral Home on Thursday, March 3, 2022, from 12 p.m. until 1 p.m., the funeral hour.  Rev. Jerry Lee Helmick will officiate, and interment will follow in Parsons City Cemetery.  The Hostetler Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements for Janet Sue Shrout Newman.  Send online condolences to the family at www.hostetlerfuneralhome.com.
