The following criminal complaint has been filed in the Tucker County Magistrate office:
Chad Richard Friend, Friendsville, Md. was charged with one count of DUI Aggravated. The complaint states that on Saturday, May 7 at approximately 11 p.m. TFC J.J. Schmidle and Trooper C.A. Hawkins were notified of a vehicle crash on WV72 near St. George Bridge by Tucker County 911. Once on the scene, Hawkins observed a white Dodge Caravan crashed into the side of a hill. Hawkins made contact with the driver, Chad Richard Friend and could smell the distinct odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from his breath. Sobriety tests were administered and all were failed. He then conducted a PBT test with the result of .197% BAC. Friend was placed into custody for DUI. He was then transported to Parsons Police Department to administer a second chemical test. Hawkins explained the implied consent form and Friend signed it. The secondary test results were .157% BAC. Hawkins was transported to Tygart Valley Regional Jail.
