HAMBLETON – The Tucker County Volleyball team host a triple header on Tuesday October 11th. In the first match of the night at TCHS the Davis-Thomas and Tucker Valley Volleyball teams faced off. Davis-Thomas got the victory over Tucker Valley in straight sets 25-19 and 25-18.
In the second match the Lady Mt. Lions JV team hosted Tygarts Valley. The Tucker County JV team picked up the victory over the Lady Bulldogs in straight sets 25-20 and 25-16.
In the last match of the night the Tucker County varsity team hosted Tygarts Valley in a best of 5 set match. In Set 1 Tucker County went on a 3-0 run to build an 8-5 lead early. The Lady Mt. Lions then produced a 9-2 run to make the Tucker County lead 17-7. The home team then cruised from there as they took Set 1 by the score of 25-11. In Set 2 Tucker County lead early 4-1. The Lady Bulldogs fought back to tie the score at 10-10. The Lady Mt. Lions then finished the set on a 15-5 run to give the Lady Mt. Lions the Set 2 win 25-15. Tygarts Valley was more competitive in Set 3 as the set score was 12-11 Tucker County halfway through the set. The Lady Mt. Lions then went on a big 7-1 run to put the score to 19-12 Tucker County. Tygarts Valley fought back as got with 2 points at 24-22. The Lady Mt. Lions were able to win Set 3 by the score of 25-22 to give the Lady Mt. Lions the match win 3-0.
Before the Varsity Match the Tucker County Coaching Staff recognized this year’s Seniors. These seniors are as follows: Paige Shaffer, Ella Spencer, Lilly Callaway, Catie Kirk and Katlyn Simmons.
Tucker County(6-7) will travel to Elkins tonight Wednesday October 19th at 6pm and then the Lady Mt. Lions will host Petersburg on Thursday October 20th at 6pm. For more info go to TuckerCountySports.Com.
