This week I am going to share a small piece that was sent to me by one of my readers. This little ditty was written by her Grandmother and I would like to share it with you. It is titled,
A Reading, “The Lazy Family”
Sam Johnson was a lazy man, his wife was lazy too and all the boys were just the same, Joseph, Jim and Hugh.
One winter night was very cold, the wood pile very slim. Sam wanted Hugh to bring some wood and Hugh said talk to Jim.
Then Mr. Johnson said to Jim, I do not want to scold, but go and bring a stick of wood I’m suffering with the cold.
Run out yourself said Jim to him I’m suffering too you know. There’s Mother there just talk to her, maybe she will go.
Rebecca Jane the old man said, please get some wood yes please and if you don’t you’ll surely see the boys and I will freeze.
Well freeze she said quite angrily do you think I’ll break my back, do you think I’ll go and lug in wood for such a lazy pack.
Just freeze she said, just every one I’m sure it will serve you right. They all sat there, the fire went out and they all froze that night.
Momma Said, “Just a little humor but it goes to show if you want something done you better do it yourself!!”
Oats and Pumpkin Dog Treats
Ingredients:
- 1 Banana
- 3 Tablespoons Pumpkin Puree
- 1 Egg
- ¼ cup Rolled Oats
- 1 ½ cups Garbanzo Bean Flour
Directions:
- Using a large bowl, mash the banana and pumpkin puree together in a chunky mash. No need to go super fine on this one!
- Add in the oats and the egg. Stir well to combine.
- Last, mix in the flour and stir until all the ingredients blend together.
- If your mixture is too sticky, go ahead and add a bit more flour. If it comes out too dry, you may want to use less flour next time. To rescue it this time, go ahead and add either a bit more pumpkin or a tiny bit of water.
- Take the dough out of the bowl and roll it out on a lightly floured surface. Use your favorite dog cookies cutters to cut the dough into treat shapes. You can also just place about a tablespoon in a ball and make non-shaped cookies. Place the shapes on a lightly greased baking sheet and bake at 350 degrees for about 15 minutes.
- Remove from the oven and let cool before you serve them to your dog.
This easy hypoallergenic dog treat recipe will surely be a hit with your canine companion! Keep them stored in your favorite dog treat storage jar and serve them up as rewards for good behavior after your dog training sessions!
