If you have the opportunity to be on Davis Street in Parsons, stop by and see the beautiful flowers at the home of Martin and Jean Wilmoth.
Every spring, Martin and Jean plant close to 100 Dahlias around their home and garden. Each fall the roots must be dug and kept in a cool dark place. Most people will not want to go through the hassle of digging and replanting each year, but the Martins want to share the beauty.
Most of the original roots came from their farm when they moved into town. Jean stated, “We just want to share the beauty of these wonderful flowers with the community.”
Along with the Dahlias the Wilmoth’s also have Gladiolas, Black Eyed Susans and a very large garden. Jean said, “Stop by and smell the flowers.”
