Charleston, W.Va. – Legal Aid of West Virginia (LAWV) announces today the launch of their new Kinship
Connector tool. This free online resource for kinship caregivers, like grandparents or other relatives
caring for children in their family, provides access to legal information and help with paperwork for
adoption, guardianship and temporary care agreements.
It is available now at https://legalaidwv.org/kinship-connector/.
The Kinship Connector can help caregivers compare options for formalizing custody of children and fill
out necessary paperwork; completed paperwork can then easily be filed in Court once printed.
This tool is completely free, open to the public and does not have any income requirements. This tool is
not meant to help when the children are involved in an abuse and neglect case in court.
