At the meeting of the Tucker County School Board, Superintendent Alicia Lambert informed the board that the county has received a grant to create three new positions within the county.
“We have been blessed to receive a grant to become a Community in Schools (CIS),”
Lambert said.
The three new CIS Site Resource Facilitator positions will consist of one facilitator at
TVEMS, DTEMS, and TCHS. The positions are fully grant funded through a five-year grant
“For the first year will be $95,000 per site that we will receive. It will be a five-year line
item budget through the governor’s office,” Lambert said.
Lambert stated to the Board that the grant is guaranteed for five years with the goal of
being self-sufficient at the end of the five-year grant.“The grant pays for more than just the salary,” Lambert said.
Lambert proposed the idea of a Therapy Dog for the district through the CIS grant.
“The students have been reaching out and asking for that,” Lambert said.
The new positions will work in conjunction with the Family Resource Network.
