John Jeffery Rhoades, Sr.

John Jeffery Rhoades, Sr., age 62 years, a resident of Hambleton, WV, departed this life early Saturday morning, June 24, 2023, at Mon Health Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.  He had been in declining health although death was unexpected. 

He was born Saturday, May 6, 1961, at Akron, OH, a son of the late Roy Isaac “PeeWee” Rhoades and Emma Lois Hulsey Rhoades. He was previously married to Stephanie Jones, who survives at Rosendorf.

Surviving are one son, John Jeffery Rhoades, Jr. of Rosendorf; three brothers, Leslie Cameron “Cam” Rhoades and wife Pamela of Lequire, OK, Cleveland Clarence “Cleve” Rhoades and Delton Don “Jipe” Rhoades, both of Hambleton; two sisters, Patricia Leabeth “Sis” Bohon and husband James of Elkins and DeAnna Eloise “DeeDee” Summerfield and husband David of Hambleton; special Uncle and Aunt, Jack and Beverly Rhoades of TX, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Preceding him in death is one brother, Roy Barto “Barry” Rhoades,

He attended the schools of Tucker County and Parsons High School and received his GED from Continental Academy in Oklahoma in 2002.  He was a former employee of Parsons Footwear, Kingsford Charcoal Co. and for the Quail Ridge Construction Co., working on power houses.  He enjoyed mowing grass, and he would mow lawns for several people.  John also enjoyed watching WVU sports and Tucker County Football and listening to music.  John loved his family very much.

The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons, WV on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, from 4 to 6 p.m.  On Wednesday evening at 6 p.m. a Celebration of Life will be conducted by the Reverend James Snyder.  Cremation will follow.  The Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons, WV is in charge of the arrangements for John Jeffery Rhoades, Sr.  Condolences may be expressed to the family at; www.lohrbarbfuneralhome.com.
