Letter to the Editor
I am very offended by the Pride Sign along the road in Canaan Valley. It is about time individuals keep their opinions and beliefs to themselves.
We have a lot of visitors and tourists who come to West Virginia for vacation to get away from the city to enjoy some peaceful time in the mountains and the last thing they need to see when they arrive in beautiful Canaan Valley is a Pride sign along the road. I’m not sure if the sign is on State property or Private property but it needs to come down. This will only prompt others to put up Biden, Trump and BLM signs along the road. Tucker County needs to have an ordinance that forbids all signs except business and restaurants to be placed along the road.
Let’s keep Canaan Valley and Canaan Valley State Park a place where we are proud to promote our beautiful area to our friends and want them to bring their families and enjoy nature and not advertise our personal agenda.
If we don’t put a stop to this now, we will turn into a haven for billboards like you see in some tourist areas.
