Tucker County Senior Center’s September Outpost

Tuesday September 5th, 2023, the Tucker County Senior Center in Parsons, WV will host its monthly outpost lunch gathering for anyone who wants to share a meal and join in the fun. 

The senior center menu will be offering its guests baked chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy and corn, potluck sides will be welcomed to complement the meal. 

Events of the day will start at 10:30 am and will feature two well know old time musicians, Gerry Milnes and Michael “Mike” Miller, who many may recall played together at the locally performed play, “Moonshine Memories”, recently at the Tucker County Court House. 

Gerry and his wife live in Elkins, WV. He is well known for playing traditional string music, touring widely, and garnering top awards for his instrumental performances. He served as the Folk Arts Coordinator at the Augusta Heritage Center of Davis & Elkins College for twenty-five years. 

Mike Miller also from Elkins, WV regularly plays backup guitar for Gerry Milnes as well as Charlie Walden who is a leading, living exponent of the traditional fiddle music of Missouri. Mike and his wife recently moved to WV after spending more than four decades living and working in big cities in North America 

and Asia.
