The following criminal complaints have been filed in the Tucker County Magistrate office:
Jerry Allen Pifer, of Parsons, was charged with one count of Malicious Assault. According to the complaint, on Friday, Sept. 29 Chief Deputy M.J. Sigley was dispatched for a physical fight. He arrived on scene and noticed a male subject holding what appeared to be a cloth to his head and facial area. He was advised by Daniel Simpson (victim) that a male subject, namely Jerry Pifer, came up to him while he was trying to wash his vehicle. The victim told Pifer to go away and he started to leave then allegedly came at him. The victim advised the defendant started to push him and hit him and he attempted to shove him away and spray him with the water hose. The victim stated they ended up in the parking area and he was allegedly struck several times by the defendant as he tried to defend himself. Upon receiving medical treatment after the altercation, he was treated for multiple lacerations to the facial/head area and received several sutures. Sigley was notified by E911 that while being seen by medical personnel, the victim had a seizure and was being transported to Davis Medical Center located in Randolph County.
Jeremy David Cussins, of Parsons, was charged with one count of Domestic Battery. The complaint states that on Tuesday, Aug. 22, Deputy C.R. Summerfield of the Tucker County sheriff’s Office received medical records and photographs of injuries that Caitlin Hebb sustained due to a domestic violence incident with her husband Jeremy Cussins. He contacted the victim and met with her at the Tucker County Sheriff’s office on Wednesday, Aug. 23. He obtained a digital voice recorded audio statement from her. In summary she stated that she was awaken on the day before she left at 5 a.m. around June 4 by getting the crap beaten out of her. She stated she had her bags packed under the bed for two weeks because the defendant allegedly told her before that if she left he would kill her. She stated that she again tried to leave and he started again. A male subject came in and grabbed the defendant and prevented him from further injuring Hebb. She stated that she sustained bruising, scrapes, soreness and mental abuse from the incident.
On Tuesday, Aug. 29 Summerfield met with the male subject and obtained a voice recorded audio statement from him. In summary he stated that during the incident between the victim and the defendant he heard the arguing and heard Hebb state that she wanted to leave. He said that he then heard a loud thump followed by yelling, so he ran upstairs and saw the defendant allegedly push Hebb onto the ground. He attempted to stop the defendant and put the victim in his car and left with her. He said that what he observed the defendant do would have been violent enough to cause bruising to the victim.
All individuals are presumed innocent until proven otherwise in a court of law.
