Jerry Pifer appeared before Judge Courrier in District Court with his attorney James Hawkins. Tucker County Prosecuting Attorney Savannah Hull Wilkins appeared for the State in the matter.
The status hearing had no pending motions to be heard that day. However, Wilkins informed the court that a plea agreement had been sent to the defense. The Defense had sent a counter offer, but no agreement had been reached as of the court appearance, according to Wilkins. “We are still negotiating a possible plea,” Wilkins said.
Specifics of the plea and counter offer were not discussed in open court and no details are available.
A court appearance in the case was scheduled for February 20th in the case.
Pifer is charged with Malicious Assault.
