The Parsons Senior Center held their monthly Outpost on Tuesday, April 2, 2024. They began with the Lord’s Prayer followed by reciting the Pledge of Allegiance and the singing of “God Bless America”. The April birthdays were recognized. Those present were Ken Knotts and Sharon Cassidy. The group then sang “Happy Birthday” to them.
The program began with Sharon Daniels reading a poem titled “Prayer at Springtime.” Sharon Cassidy then read “It’s April” followed by Arlene Ramsey reading “Another Spring” and Jean Myers reading “Tapestry of Spring.” The program concluded with Barbara McClain reading “Awe to April.”
Due to the illness of the entertainment, the program was rearranged. The group joined in with singing along with Jean Morrison playing the piano Some of the selections included: “I’ll Fly Away”, “Amazing Grace”, “How Great Thou Art”, “Where Roses Never Fade”, “The Old Rugged Cross”, “Joy Unspeakable”, “What a Day That Will Be”, “When the Roll Is Called Up Yonder”, and “When I’ve Traveled My Last Mile”.
Door Prizes were won by Sharon Daniels, Dale Varner, and Jean Morrison.
Ken Knotts gave the blessing on the food. We were pleased to have 32 participants attend and enjoy a delicious meal.
