Dr. Vandevender is originally from St. George and has returned there with her husband Justin to raise their daughter Sydney.
Vandevender attended Davis & Elkins College for undergraduate education and graduated from Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine in May of 2014. She has traveled to New Orleans and North Carolina to further her education via externships. As a horse owner and former 4Her, Vandevender is very comfortable around big and small animals including with beef cow, dairy cow, goat and other livestock. Vandevender has special interests in oncology and reproduction and the practice will be expanding these services.
Vandevender is very active in the community and participates in the Tucker County 4H as well as serving on the Tucker County Fair Board. She is also a member of the Farm Bureau, American Veterinary Medical Association and American Association Bovine Practitioners. In her spare time, she enjoys riding her horses and hunting with her mountain feists.
Allegheny Equine Veterinary Service is a full-service mobile equine and large animal practice that travels to Randolph, Barbour, Tucker, Upshur, Preston and Pocahontas Counties. AEVS was established in the Fall of 2005 by Dr. Tracy Walker of Elkins. The practice offers service to horses, cows, goats, sheep, llamas and pigs directly on farm. Services available include digital radiography, ultrasound, herd health, artificial insemination and embryo transfer, in addition to general medicine and preventative care.
