Hunter Shahan plead not guilty to burglary, conspiracy and fourth degree arson charges July 22nd before Judge Courrier in District Court. The not guilty plea was part of a arraignment hearing following a Grand Jury indictment on the charges.
If convicted, Shahan faces 15 years on the Burglary charge, one to five years and $10,000 fine on Conspiracy and one to two years on the fourth degree arson charge and a $2,500 fine with the arson charge carrying a fixed term.
Shahan appeared in court via Teams from the Tygart Valley Regional Jail where he was incarcerated on a separate matter. Shahan’s attorney Wes Mallow appeared in court along with Special Prosecutor Claire Neihaus who appeared via phone.
Judge Courrier granted the Grand Jury minutes to be distributed 10 days prior to trial.
