Robert Kenny (Bob) Hedrick, at the age of 102 and a resident of the Paul Spring Retirement Community, Fort Hunt, Virginia, passed away on September 20, 2024.
Robert was born in Holly Meadows, West Virginia on August 28, 1922, to Walter Scott+ and Lulu Moore+ Hedrick. He graduated from Parsons High School and went into the Army where he served in Germany. In 1944, he married his next-farm neighbor and childhood girlfriend, Lorraine Kisner. They had three children, Robert Kenny Jr. (Walter Huxley+), Ronald Dean (Teresa) and Patti Lingafelt (Charles) and were married for 61 years before her passing in January 2006.
He received a BCE from George Washington University, an MCE from Catholic University and worked toward a PhD at George Washington University. After receiving his BCE, Robert worked for several departments of the US Army as a civil engineer, received a patent from the US Patent Office and numerous certificates of commendation. After his retirement and for almost 10 years, he was an instructor at Northern Virginia Community College as well as maintaining his tomato garden and yard.
His two brothers, Walter Harold + (Ernestine) and Carl Marshall+ (Mary Jane+) proceeded him in death. In addition to his children and their spouses, he leaves behind six grandchildren, Wendy Dent (Chris), Amy Hedrick, Kris Hedrick (Brian Knowles), Matthew Hedrick, Charlie Lingafelt (Lisa) and Claire Quandt (Erik), eight great grandchildren and one great, great grandson Hudson; all he dearly loved. He also leaves behind his dear friend and companion, Jean Elliott.

Funeral will be held at the Church of the Reformation, 212 East Capitol Street, NE, Washington, DC 20003 on Friday, October 4, at 11:00 a.m. Private Interment at Bethel Cemetery, Parsons, West Virginia.
