Parsons Senior Center outpost was held on October 1, 2024. Linda Bonner welcomed everyone, folks recited the Lord’s Prayer, the Pledge of Allegiance, and sang “God Bless America.” Everyone sang “Happy Birthday” to Nellie Workman.
In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness month, Cindy Harsh delivered remarks and introduced Mike Rosenau, President of Tucker County Commission, who read a proclamation declaring October in Tucker County as awareness month. Kim Ledden and Carol Precht from the Tucker County Health Department also participated along with CEOS members Sharon Daniels, Sylvia Rosenau, Ruth Alkire, Eleanor Nestor, and Jane Pifer. Survivors Arlene Ramsey, Diane Dilly, Betty Sturm, and Shirley Cassidy participated in hanging a remembrance wreath.
Lenny Gruppo played and sang several beautiful songs including “Ava Maria”, “Hey Jude”, “Somewhere Over the Rainbow”, and the crowd joined in “Take Me Home Country Roads”. Door prizes were won by Betty Sturm and David Bava.
A Halloween party will be held on Thursday, October 31, come join us and wear a costume if you have one. The November Parsons outpost will be held on November 5, 2024. Please call 304-478-2423 with any questions about services of the center.
