Rodney Dale “Sug” Rosier, Sr.

Rodney Dale “Sug” Rosier, Sr., age 76 years, a resident of Pifer Mountain, St. George, WV, departed this life Saturday, November 23, 2024, at his home.  He had been in his usual health and death was unexpected.

He was born Friday, November 12, 1948, at Elkins, WV, a son of the late Stearl Rosier, Sr. and Leeorr Marie Rosier.  On December 17, 1967, at Mt. Lake Park, MD, he was married to the former Donna Kay Ludwick, who preceded him in death February 21, 2018.  They had celebrated fifty-one years of marriage.

Surviving are two sons, Rodney Dale Rosier, Jr. and wife Cristy, and Ricky Scott Rosier and companion, Lindsey, all of Pifer Mountain: two daughters, Roxanna Marie Waybright of Barbour Co, and Roxcella Dale Owens and husband Brian of St. George; one brother, Robert Lee “Bud” Rosier and wife Beverly of Clover Run; one sister, Shirley Ann Carr and husband Hoye of Parsons;   eighteen grandchildren, Bethany and husband Sean, Shane, Ryan, Racheall, Kaydence, Haylee, Lylee, ElleeMae, Blake, Kameron, Kyleigh, Krystal, Brantlee, Raygen, Ella, Lily, Ryan, and Ryker; one great grandchild, Raivyn; and one niece, Allison Ludwick of TN.

Preceding him in death are one son, Rocky Allen Rosier; one brother, Stearl “Sonny” Rosier, Jr.; and infant twin grandchildren, Kaedyn Alan and Kristopher Alan Scott Rosier.

He was a graduate of Parsons High School with the class of 1966, and he had attended Potomac State College.  He was a timber cutter, working for several local companies.  He previously attended the Pifer Mountain Church.  “Sug” enjoyed hunting, and farming, loved his dogs, Rex, Clyde and Piggy, but especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.  

The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Friday, November 29, 2024, from 4 PM to 6 PM.  The Lohr & Barb Funeral Home is honored to be in charge of the arrangements for Rodney Dale “Sug” Rosier, Sr.  Condolences may be expressed to the family at; www.lohrbarbfuneralhome.com.
