Back-to-back undefeated regular seasons with back-to-back losses in the state semifinals is the result for the 2024 Mt. Lions football team. After a season full of big wins, big plays, and big numbers, it all came to an end last Saturday in Parsons with a 29-6 loss to the talons of the Wahama White Falcons. Tucker came out hot with a 70-yard run by Jared Reall on the opening possession that set up a 2-yard plunge into the end zone by QB Sam Marks. The two-point try was unsuccessful, but Tucker was on the board first 6-0. Wahama would then score 16 unanswered points before the break, making the score 16-6 at the half. The White Falcons got the ball to start the third quarter and mounted a four-minute, 85-yard drive for a touchdown. The Wahama two-point conversion was no good keeping the game within two scores at 22-6. Tucker only possessed the ball once in the third quarter and it resulted in a turnover for the Mt. Lions. Wahama would find the goal line once more to start the fourth quarter and that would be the final score in the contest at 29-6. Tucker was led on the ground by senior Jared Reall who had 19 carries for 143 yards and a touchdown, Sam Marks was 12-27 passing for 172 yards and one interception, Luke Barb had a game high 60 receiving yards and senior Garrett Wilfong led in receptions with 5 for 40 yards. The second undefeated regular season in a row, for head coach AJ Rapp ends with the loss to the Wahama White Falcons who will take on the Cameron Dragons next week for the State Championship in Charleston.
