The Parsons Advocate

I had a very nice customer stop in this week and we had a great chat.  I want to wish her family traveling mercies on an upcoming trip and also wish them fair weather and calm seas.  I like to interact with people who this article has an impact on.  I’m hoping I am doing Mom and Gran justice with this little look into our lives.

As I have said before we had a good life growing up and we didn’t know we were not rich.  We were not rich with wealth but we were millionaires in life lessons.  Momma Said, “Money cannot buy everything.”  I grew up with common sense, which I didn’t use sometimes, humility, morals and manners.

I can look back on my life and say sometimes things didn’t go just right but most times it was good.  Everyone makes mistakes but it takes a bigger person to walk through those mistakes, admit you were wrong and persevere.  Momma Said, “It is easier to bend than to break.  Learn from mistakes and be a better person.”

I hope everyone is getting along with this last Artic Blast.  Hopefully Spring is on the horizon and we will see some green instead of white.  I now, I know, a few weeks ago I was wishing for the cold weather to bypass the mud, but eventually it is going to be back to the old mop and bucket.  Momma Said, “So goes the life of a doggie mom.”

Cowboy Candy

2 pounds jalapenos

2 cups sugar

1 cup vinegar

1 cup water

1 teaspoon turmeric

Pinch of salt

Slice jalapenos leaving seeds intact, set aside.  In saucepan add all other ingredients and stir until sugar dissolves.  Add peppers and simmer 10 minutes, peppers will turn a darker green.  Add to jar, let cool and refrigerate.
