The Mon Valley Railroad Historical Society located at 5000 Green Bag Road, Morgantown, WV in the Mountaineer Mall is having our first Open House of 2025.
Mark your calendars for Saturday, March 15 and Sunday, March 16, 2025. Hours for the open house are 10am to 4pm on Saturday and 12 noon to 4pm on Sunday. Admission is Free, donations are welcome. Come and see the progress we have made over the Winter! Our HO scale model railroad is 22 feet wide by 49 feet long with two tracks on two levels! The new “O” gauge layout is 12ft. wide by 24ft. long and also has two tracks.
Trains will be running on both layouts. Our new N scale layout is 32 inches wide by 20 feet long and will also have trains running. We have two display cases of real railroad history. There will also be six tables of good used HO and O gauge trains and accessories for sale. You’re sure to find something special for that railroad fan in your family or for your own model railroad!
The event is Free to the public but donations are always welcome. Our members can answer your questions about the local railroads in our area of West Virginia, about railroad history in general, and the hobby of Model Railroading. Our society has memberships available and we welcome anyone with an interest in model railroading or in railroad history.
