Raymond Nickolas “Jack” Lambruno, 82, passed away October 21, 2014 at his home in Thomas, WV.
He was born February 2, 1932 in Douglas, WV a son of the late Loupie and Mary E. Greco Lambruno. He attended Douglas school and then graduated from Thomas High School. After graduating high school he enlisted in the US Navy; he was deployed on the USS Midway and served during the Korean War. He worked for Douglas Coal and then finished out his career with Buffalo Coal as a heavy equipment operator where he later retired. In his spare time, he enjoyed working with wood and making things. He was a loving husband and father, and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren where he was known to them as Pop Pop. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Fraternal Order of Eagles, and the American Legion. He was a faithful member of the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Emily (Phillips) Lambruno, one sister, Marian “Bunny” Cangley, Charlotte, NC, Five children, Steve (Joyce) Lambruno, Cadiz, Kentucky, Tony (Nena) Lambruno, Thomas, WV, Nick (Kelly) Lambruno, Morgantown, WV, Chris Lambruno, Thomas, WV, and Annette (Brian) Kiger, Morgantown, WV, seven grandchildren, Steven Lambruno, Adam Lambruno, Loupie Lambruno, Devan Lambruno, Alena Lambruno, Kaden Lambruno, and Austin Kiger, and two great-grandchildren, Hayden and Rece Lambruno.
Friends were received Wednesday, October 22, 2014 from 2-8 p.m. at Hinkle Funeral Home with rosary held at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial was held 11 a.m., October 23, 2014 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church with Father Timothy Grassi as celebrant.
