PhyllisJeanDavisPhyllis Jean Hardy Davis, age 79 years, a resident of the Dryfork Road, Hendricks, WV departed this life Saturday afternoon, November 1, 2014 at the Hospice Care Regional Inpatient Center at Elkins, WV surrounded by her loving family. She had suffered a stroke, just one week ago Monday.

She was born Monday, October 7, 1935 at Pheasant Run, a daughter of the late George and Flora Mildred Nestor Hardy. She was married to Van Davis, who survives, and on November 13, they would have celebrated sixty years together.

Also surviving are her children, Cathy Bonner and husband Dave, James Davis and wife Tammy, and Robert Davis and wife Tammy; two granddaughters, Jamie Huffman and husband Louro and Beki Bonner; one great grandson, Donald James Davis; three adopted grandchildren, Christina Davis, Amanda Hott and Ginger Hebb; three brothers, Ernest Hardy and wife Gladys of Hambleton, Kenny Hardy of Bull Run and Delmas Hardy and wife Rose of Parsons; and one sister, Lorene Shahan of Parsons.

Preceding her in death are four infants; one brother, Alfred Hardy; and two sisters, Lucille Hebb and Helen Weese.

She was a full time homemaker and a member of the Parsons Church of God. She was a quilter and enjoyed ceramics and she loved her grandchildren dearly.

The family received friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. Final Rites will be conducted from the funeral home parlor, Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. The Rev. Eli Hostetler will officiate and interment will follow at the High Ridge Cemetery at Elk, WV. The Lohr & Barb Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for Phyllis Jean Hardy Davis.
