Carol Ann Carr Simmons

Carol Ann Carr Simmons, 89, a resident of Hambleton, passed from this life Wednesday evening, July 9, 2025, at her home. She had been in failing health and death was due to cardiac arrest.

Carol was born Thursday, June 25, 1936, in Hendricks, a daughter of the late Tennis Lee Carr and Pansy Ellen Bright Carr. On Nov. 8, 1954, at Oakland, MD, she was married to Lloyd Junior Simmons who preceded her in death on January 26, 2003.

Left to cherish Carol’s memory is one son, Jeffrey L. Simmons of Hambleton, four grandchildren, Jeffrey Simmons and wife, Heather, Katie Phillips and husband, Cody, Kim Showalter and husband, Charlie, and Ricky Simmons and wife, Kaitlyn, seven grandchildren, Cameron, Kendall, Bryson, Maddie, Vaeda, Granite, and Carson, one sister, Zetta Fansler, three brothers, Danny Carr and wife, Phyllis, Hoye Lynn Carr and wife, Shirley, and Phillip Carr, one daughter-in-law, Barbara Simmons, one sister-in-law, June Ann Carr, and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding Carol in death besides her husband and parents was one son, Ricky Lynn Simmons, one brother, Doral Carr, and one brother-in-law, Allen Dale Fansler.

Carol was a graduate of Parsons High School. She and her husband, Lloyd, owned and operated a grocery store in Hambleton for several years before she found enjoyment in being a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, canning, and raising her chickens. Matt Dillon, westerns, and other tv programs were part of her evening plans over her last few years. She was also an avid reader especially when it came to her Bible. Carol was a Christian with a strong faith in her Lord.

A private graveside service was held at Parsons City Cemetery. The Hostetler Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements for Carol Ann Carr Simmons. Send condolences to the family at www.hostetlerfuneralhome.com.
