The golf team hit the road twice this past week, competing in two challenging matches against strong regional opponents.
On Monday, the team played an 18-hole match at the Raven Golf Club at Snowshoe, hosted by Tygarts Valley. The event featured six teams from across the region. Despite facing tough competition and not playing to their full potential, the team secured a respectable third-place finish. They were narrowly edged out by host team Tygarts Valley, who placed second, and AAA powerhouse Greenbrier East, who claimed first.
Junior Nate Davis led the team with a strong performance, finishing fifth individually with a score of 93.
The team returned to action on Thursday for a 9-hole match at the Arnold Palmer Signature Course at Stonewall Jackson Resort, hosted by Lewis County High School. Once again, the team took third place, trailing only AAA schools Lewis County and Grafton.
Juniors Nate Davis and Drew Simmons both finished in the top 10 individually, continuing their consistent play throughout the season.
Looking ahead, the team faces a busy week with three matches on the schedule: Monday at Clarksburg Country Club (hosted by Notre Dame High School), Tuesday at The Pines Country Club in Morgantown (hosted by Trinity High School), and a home match Thursday at Holly Meadows Golf Course.
