Tucker County High School’s Lady Mountain Lions volleyball team kicked off their 2025 season last Tuesday with a Tri-Match in Petersburg, facing off against both the host Vikings and the Union Tigers.
In their season debut, the young Tucker squad showed early promise but fell to Petersburg in straight sets. Despite the loss, the Lady Mt. Lions quickly regrouped for their second match of the evening.
Against Union, Tucker County flipped the momentum, coming out strong and controlling the pace throughout the match. The Lady Lions claimed victory in two sets, earning their first win of the season and setting a positive tone moving forward.
The team will now turn its attention to its home opener on Monday, September 9th, when they welcome Moorefield to the Den. First serve is set for 6:00 p.m.
