I was watching the news last week and they ran a piece on restaurants in different places in the state. This one aired about a place in New Martinsville I think was called Bigfoot Hot Dogs. They showed some that had peppers so hot that you need to have the firetruck on standby. Momma Said, “Not my style.”
I guess Bigfoot is all the rage and has allegedly been spotted everywhere I think except Hawaii, at least not that I have heard. I really don’t think there are any in West Virginia because someone would have a recipe on how to cook one. I have never seen any roadkill that looks like one and in this state if you don’t shoot it or hit it with your car it doesn’t exist.
I sure if someone had shot one during hunting season they would have had pictures and probably even made a coat out of the hide. We are a state that doesn’t waste any part of the animals we hunt. Momma Said, “If they didn’t eat it, or wear it, I think it would be a full body mount in their living room.” I can’t help to think we West Virginians are proud people and would brag to everyone, “Here hold my beer and I will show you how I got him.”
Actually, it would be a sad day if one was spotted and then was killed. A picture is worth a thousand words you can brag all you want and Bigfoot can go on his or her merry way. After all if the creature has eluded everyone for this long maybe we should just say, “Live and let live.”
