The Tucker County Mt. Lions suffered their first regular season loss since 2022 this past Friday in Frankfort. The Falcons, who won the AA state title last season and completed an undefeated year, have carried that momentum into this fall.
Frankfort outscored the Mt. Lions 14-0 in both the first and second quarters to take a 28-0 lead into halftime. The only score of the third quarter also came from the Falcons, extending their lead to 35-0.
Tucker got on the board in the fourth quarter when quarterback Sam Marks connected with wide receiver Keelyn Eichelberger on a 23-yard touchdown pass. Cayden Arnold added the two-point conversion, cutting the deficit to 35-8.
However, the Falcons answered immediately with a 60-yard kickoff return for a touchdown on the ensuing play, sealing the game at 48-8.
Frankfort dominated the ground game, rushing for 284 yards and earning 21 first downs. The Mt. Lions had a balanced offensive attack, totaling 95 passing yards and 90 rushing yards. Marks went 7-for-15 for 95 yards, with one touchdown and one interception. Reid Kisamore led the receiving corps with four catches for 59 yards, while Luke Barb carried the ball 11 times for 63 yards.
Tucker will return home and look to get back to their winning ways this Friday, September 26th, at 7:00 p.m. as they host the Webster County Highlanders.
