The Tucker Valley Wildcats traveled to Blacksville, WV, on Thursday to take on the Clay-Battelle Cee Bees. Tucker got to work quickly, scoring on their first possession of the contest as Titus Bowley waltzed into the end zone for a 25-yard touchdown run. Fletcher Hyre added the two-point conversion, putting TV up 8-0.
Tucker’s defense forced a turnover from CB, and Bowley scored again a few plays later, this time on a 36-yard run. Hyre added another two-point conversion, and the Wildcats led 16-0 at the end of the first quarter.
Tucker’s defense continued to dominate, as 8thgrade defensive back Rylan Sexton shot into the backfield to tackle the Cee Bee ball carrier for a safety. On the ensuing possession, Bowley plowed in for his third first-half touchdown, extending the lead to 24-0.
Fletcher Hyre found the end zone on the Wildcats’ next offensive possession with a 14-yard touchdown run, making the score 30-0. The Wildcats weren’t finished yet in the first half, as “Big” Asher Kisamore took a handoff straight up the middle for a 16-yard touchdown. Kisamore’s score would be the final one before the halftime break, with Tucker leading 38-0.
In the second half, Tucker eased off the gas, giving the next generation of Wildcats the lion’s share of the reps. TV scored one final time as Bowley returned a 54-yard punt for a touchdown, making the final score 44-0.
Bowley finished with 79 rushing yards, 3 rushing touchdowns, and a 54-yard punt return touchdown. Hyre added 63 rushing yards and 1 touchdown, while Kisamore contributed 39 rushing yards and a touchdown of his own.
With the win, the Wildcats remain undefeated at 5-0. The victory marked their third defensive shutout of the season.
Tucker will hit the road again next week for a big matchup against their eastern rivals, the Cougars of East Hardy. The game is set for Wednesday, October 8, with a 6:30 p.m. kickoff.
