Tucker County Health Department Drive Thru Flu Shot Clinics
GET YOUR FLU SHOT! Wednesday October 8, 2025 at the Health Department Parking Lot 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Thursday, October 9, 2025 at theDavis Fire Hall Parking Lot 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Seasonal flu shots will be given to anyone 18 years of age and older. If you have Medicare or insurance, please bring your card. You will not be charged any co-pay. If you do not have insurance, you can still receive a flu shot at no cost. In case of inclement weather, the Parsons Clinic will be held inside the Tucker County Health Department and the Davis Clinic will be held inside the Davis Fire Hall.
Food Handler’s Training Classes
Sanitarian James Snyder announced that the Tucker County Health Department will be conducting Food Handler’s Training Classes at the Senior Center in Parsons, on Wednesday, October 8th, 2025 at 9:00 AM and 7:00 PM. Individuals attending the class will be issued a food handler’s permit which will be good for two years. A $10.00 registration fee will be collected upon admittance. The classes will start promptly, and late arrivals will not be admitted.
Clothing Give-away
Free clothing give-away at the Southern Baptist Church in Rowlesburg on Saturday, Oct. 11 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Buckwheat Dinner
Buckwheat Dinner at St. John’s Church, Parsons on Saturday, October 11 from 4pm – 6:30pm. $12 donation for adult meal and $6 for children 12 and younger. Carry out orders call 304-478-2620. Meal A – (5) buckwheat cakes & (2) cakes of sausage & (1) 4 oz. gravy & (1) biscuit. Meal B – (4) biscuits & (2) 4 oz. gravy & (2) cakes of sausage. TCHLC Meeting
There will be a Tucker County Historic Landmark Commission meeting on Oct. 13, 2025, at 5:00 in the Parsons Railway Depot. The public is invited to attend the meeting.
Retired School Employees Meeting Wed October 15 at noon
TC Retired School Employees meeting is Wednesday October 15 at TC Senior Center in Parsons. Lunch is available at 11:30 if you wish, meeting to follow at 12:00 noon. All retirees are welcome.
