On Friday, October 10th, the Tucker County Board of Education announced that their office would be closed until further notice. The announcement came as part of a Facebook post at around noon.
The closure was due to roof demolition that is part of ongoing repairs, according to the Tucker County Schools. The building, which no longer belongs to the Tucker County Schools, had ownership transferred to the Tucker County Building Authority a few months ago.
The repair work has been necessary due to the aging nature of the building and the location of the current work was not part of roof replacement that was done when the rest of the building had been replaced following storm damage several years ago, the Tucker County Schools said via Messenger.
Should anyone need to contact the Tucker County Board of Education, the office may still be reached by calling the office at 304-478-2771 and leaving a message. The Office said it will return calls as soon as possible.
There was no word on how long construction work will take.
