Tucker County High School hosted its 7th Annual Cross Country Invitational this past week, welcoming teams from across the region to one of the most scenic and competitive courses in the area. Both the Lady Mt. Lions and Mt. Lions delivered impressive times in front of their home crowd.

On the girls’ side, Estoria Chase led the way for Tucker County with an exciting second-place overall finish, clocking a time of 21:04. She finished just behind Anna Bennett of St. Mary’s, who not only won the race but also set a new girls’ course record with a time of 20:04. Addi Moats secured fifth place with a time of 23:05, and Lilly Collar hit a season-best of 31:42, marking a strong day for the Lady Mt. Lions.

The boys’ team had an exceptional showing, claiming both first and second place overall. Lynk Suesli won the race with a time of 17:12, closely followed by teammate Cameron Judy at 17:26, both personal records. Alex Collar finished strong in eighth place at 19:05, Draven Bunnell crossed in 17th at 19:59, and William Gilligan earned 21st place with a time of 20:35.

The Mt. Lions’ strong individual efforts earned them a second-place team finish with 38 points, just behind St. Mary’s, who took the team title with 26 points.

Up next, the Tucker County cross country teams will travel to Frankfort High School for the Potomac Valley Conference Meet on Tuesday, October 14.
