This past Tuesday, the Tucker County High School Lady Mt. Lions volleyball team faced off against a powerhouse Southern Garrett Rams squad in a thrilling matchup that, despite ending in a loss, showcased the heart and hustle of the Lady Mt. Lions.
The Rams took the match in straight sets, 25–12, 25–20, and 25–23, but not without a fight. After a slow start in the first set, Tucker County responded with energy and determination, pushing Southern Garrett to the limit in the final two sets. The second set saw the Lady Mt. Lions close the gap with strong serving and net play, and the third set was a nail-biter, with Tucker County narrowly falling just two points short.
Senior Rylee White and sophomore Rachel Hile stood out with strong performances on both offense and defense. White’s leadership and consistent play helped drive the team’s momentum, while Hile impressed with her energy and court awareness throughout the match.
Though the scoreboard didn’t tilt in their favor, the Lady Mt. Lions battled through out.
Tucker’s next match will be on the road, October 14th in Moorefield, with a tip time of 6 p.m.
