Amie Louise Lewis, age 51, of Martinsburg passed away early Monday morning, October 6th at Mon General Hospital. She was born March 1, 1974, a daughter of the late Sharon Syrian Lewis and Michael Lewis.

She was a graduate of Martinsburg High School with the class of 1992 and attended Marshall University and WVU. Amie served as a correctional officer for 18 years in Juvenile Services. She worked her way up the rankings, and most recently served as a Lieutenant, the highest of the ranking order. Prior to that, Amie served as the Chief of Security at Vicki Douglas and JM Chick Buckbee. She was the first and only female Chief of Security in Juvenile services in West Virginia. Amie was named employee of the month six times and employee of the year twice. Additionally, Amie was a Certified Master Defensive Tactics Instructor, Pressure Point Control Tactics Certified, a T4T Instructor, and a Certified Redman Instructor. She enjoyed any comedy or humor television series, learning or talking about history, and making people laugh.

Amie is survived by her daughter, Sharee Thomas, her sons and daughter-in-law, Mikhail (Gabriella Ambrusico) Lewis, Dominick Mullenax, and Gavin Mullenax; her sister, Michelle Lewis Sirianni; her brother, Adam Lewis; and her father, Michael Lewis. Amie is also survived by aunts, nephews, and cousins. She also leaves many friends and coworkers who will miss her greatly. Amie was preceded in death by her mother, Sharon.

Amie will be remembered for her hard work ethic, infectious laugh, and positive outlook on life, even as she fought her difficult battle with pancreatic cancer. In her final days, she continued to be strong and keep her friends, family, and nursing staff laughing through it all. May she be reunited with her mother and may she rest in peace.

It was Amie’s wish that a visitation be held with a celebration of life to follow later.

The family received friends on Friday, October 10, 2025 from 5 PM to 7 PM, and on Saturday morning, October 11, 2025 from 8 AM until 11 AM. The family suggest that expressions of sympathy be in the form of contributions to; Ridgeline Children’s Shelter, 591 Kappa Sigma Pi Drive, Clarksburg, WV 26301. The Lohr & Barb Funeral Home is honored to be in charge of the arrangements for Amie Louise Lewis. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.lohrbarbfuneralhome.com.
