One of the most anticipated events of the fall is almost here! The Cortland Foundation’s 9th Annual Photography Contest is ready to unveil the winning images that will transform the halls of Cortland Acres Health & Rehab into a gallery of regional beauty.
This year, 48 photographers from across West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Virginia, and Maryland submitted their best work, capturing the breathtaking scenery, rich culture and diverse perspectives of our region. After careful review, 30 extraordinary images were selected by contest judge Perry Bennett, chief photographer for the West Virginia Legislature.
The winning photographs will debut at ARTober Fest, held at Timberline Resort, Canaan Valley, October 3 – 5. There will be a Grand Unveiling Reception at 2:15 p.m. on Saturday, October 4. Guests will also have the chance to cast their vote for the coveted People’s Choice Award.
“This event is more than just an art show – it’s a celebration of the incredible talent in our region and the beauty that surrounds us every day,” said Crystal Boone, Director of the Cortland Foundation. “We invite the entire community to join us for an afternoon of inspiration, creativity and recognition of these outstanding photographers.”
This year’s winners include: Sharon Boone, Eric Brumbaugh, Leiane Gibson, Matthew Grahovac, Kathy Jenkins, Chad Kettlewell, Joseph McKane, Bonnie Myers, June Proctor, Ed Rehbein, Michael Ribas, Dan Rose, Dana Rukse, Travis Shultz, Van Slide, Beth Spencer and Alan Tucker.
Following the unveiling, the winning images will be displayed throughout Cortland Acres Health & Rehab in the Blackwater Rehabilitation Wing and the Pendleton Lounge. Visitors are welcome to enjoy the exhibit year-round.
