The Tucker County Ambulance Authority recently received a generous donation of $18,000 from the Kincaid Family Charitable Foundation in Wheeling. The Foundation, named after a resident of the Davis/Thomas area, made the donation after reading about the Authority in the Parsons Advocate, according to Tucker County Ambulance Authority Director Amanda Simmons.
“We had an article in regards to the County Commission issue that is happening right now and you happened to place some comments that I had made in the County Commission meeting and they happened to see them in Wheeling,” Simmons said.
Tucker County Ambulance Authority Board President Dennis Filler said that the County Commission had been contacted by an attorney representing the Foundation. The Authority submitted financial information that was requested by the Foundation as a requirement of the donation.
“Two days later I got an email saying they were going to make this donation because that night they had a board meeting and made the award to us,” Filler said.
The funds, according to Filler are unrestricted and has been deposited in the Donation Account and will be transferred to the Operational Fund, per the Foundation’s wishes. The Operational Fund is used to fund the day-to-day operation of the Ambulance Service in Tucker County.
