Marguerite P. Sherman Mullennex

Marguerite P. Sherman Mullennex, age 95 years, a resident of Parsons, WV departed this life Saturday afternoon, November 29, 2025, at Mansfield Place at Philippi, WV. She had been in declining health although death was unexpected.

She was born Friday June 6, 1930, at Parsons, WV, a daughter of the late Wade Hampton Sherman and Effie Pearl Lohr Sherman. On November 28, 1947, at Oakland, MD, she was married to Charles McNeil “Charlie” Mullennex, who preceded her in death October 7, 2012. They had celebrated 64 years of marriage.

Surviving are one son, Charles McNeil “Hap” Mullennex, Jr. and companion Lisa Jones, one daughter, Donna Marie Mullennex and companion Steve Sturms, all of Parsons; two special daughters, Barbara Davis Dearborn and Sarah Lipscomb; one special son, Mike Long and wife Shelly; six grandchildren, Todd, Ryan, Travis, Chris, Amanda and Augustus “Gus”; several great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death are one daughter, Katherine Lynn “Kit” Mullennex; five brothers, “Zeke” Zealan, Harley, Hayes, Wayne Hampton, Jr. “June, and Clarence Allen “Pete” Sherman; and four sisters, Sylvia Dudley, Ogda Hear, Mary Alice Gum and Adela Ours.

She was a graduate of Parsons High School with the Class of 1946. Before getting married, she worked in a convenience store. She was a homemaker and a receptionist and switchboard operator for Doctor Pete Michael at the Tucker County Hospital. She was a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church at Parsons. Marg, as she was affectionately known, enjoyed crossword and search puzzles, camping, cooking and making hoagies for everyone. She especially loved having friends to visit and talking on the telephone. She had a good sense of humor and will be missed.

A private family graveside service will take place at the Parsons City Cemetery at Parsons, WV. The Reverend James Snyder will officiate and inurnment will follow. The Lohr & Barb Funeral Home is honored to be in charge of the arrangements for Marguerite P. Sherman Mullennex. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.lohrbarbfuneralhome.com.
