The Tucker County Chamber of Commerce and the Tucker County Development Authority announced that Tucker County Day at the Legislature will be held Thursday, Jan. 22, 2026, at the West Virginia State Capitol, in collaboration with Preston County Day. Community members are welcome and encouraged to attend. The event is free.

The annual event brings together business owners, nonprofit organizations, community leaders and residents to highlight local priorities and engage with state legislators and agency representatives during the legislative session. By partnering with Preston County this year, organizers aim to showcase regional strengths and encourage collaboration on shared opportunities and challenges.

Exhibitor displays will be set up inside the Capitol from 8:30 a.m. to noon, with Tucker County exhibits on the Senate side and Preston County exhibits on the House side. Local businesses and nonprofit organizations are invited to exhibit and provide materials highlighting their work, community initiatives, tourism and quality of life. There is no charge to participate, though advance coordination is requested to assist with planning and space.

The day’s schedule will include a Tucker County group photo opportunity in the Senate Chamber, followed by the start of the Senate session and recognition of Jan. 22, 2026, as Tucker County Day. Afternoon activities will feature a lunch gathering with members of the legislative delegation, followed by joint roundtable meetings with representatives from state agencies, such as Tourism, Arts, Culture and History, State Parks, the Department of Natural Resources, Commerce, Economic Development, and Transportation. Lunch will be provided by the Berry Best Catering and is supported by the Tucker County Commission, Clearway Energy and the Tucker Community Foundation.

Local businesses, nonprofit organizations, community groups and individuals who would like to exhibit, attend or otherwise participate are asked to contact Jessica Waldo at the Tucker County Chamber of Commerce at 304-259-5315 or jessica@gettuckered.com to request an exhibitor form and provide a participation head count.

County Day at the Legislature provides an opportunity for community members to share local perspectives, strengthen relationships with policymakers, and present what Tucker and Preston counties have to offer.
