The Davis Thomas boys’ basketball team played two games this past week. First, the Bears took on West Preston Middle. The JV squad lost a tough one by just two points, falling 26–24. Noah White had 8 points, Braxton White collected 7 points, and Blaiden Sisler had 5 points.
The varsity game that followed proved to be a challenge for the young Bears team. Trailing 18–2 after one period and 33–12 at the half, DT watched West pull away in the third period, stretching the lead to 47–17 before settling the final score at 51–17. Nolan Luzier and Elijah O’Brien both pitched in 6 points in the loss.
Later in the week, Davis Thomas squared off against Harman in a varsity-only matchup. DT held a narrow 10–7 lead after the first quarter but extended the advantage to 21–7 by the half. The Bears continued to stifle Harman’s offense, holding the Panthers to just 3 points in the third and 2 points in the fourth to take the 41–12 win. Kevin Kerr dropped 14 points, O’Brien collected 13 points, and Jarrett Dearborn had 8 points.
DT returns to the gym on January 16th at Green Bank Middle for a 7:00 p.m. tipoff.
