Charleston, W.Va. – As the Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP) moves from planning to execution, the West Virginia Department of Health (DH) is pleased to announce the official launch of health.wv.gov, the department’s newly redesigned website serving as a central hub for information on RHTP and the department’s broader public health mission.
“This updated website reflects the direction we are taking as a department and as a state,” said Secretary of Health Dr. Arvin Singh. “It improves access to information, strengthens transparency, and gives West Virginians a single place to track our work, including updates on the Rural Health Transformation Program, as we focus on long-term, sustainable improvements to health outcomes.”
The updated site provides West Virginians, partners, and stakeholders with a clear, accessible way to follow departmental developments, learn about statewide rural health initiatives, and stay informed on the department’s work to modernize healthcare delivery across the Mountain State.
The launch of health.wv.gov is part of a broader strategic branding and organizational upgrade following the implementation of House Bill 2006, which reorganized the former West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources into three separate departments: the Department of Health, the Department of Health Facilities, and the Department of Human Services. The legislation passed during the 2023 Legislative Session and became effective January 1, 2024.
Since that time, the Department of Health has been working to establish a distinct and purposeful identity centered on creating stronger lives, healthier choices, and a better West Virginia. The redesigned website features improved navigation, an updated field office search, direct access to major services and department social media channels, and a dedicated section highlighting the Rural Health Transformation Program and related initiatives.
