In the lone-high school basketball matchup of the week, the Lady Mt. Lions of TCHS played host to the Lady Warriors of Pocahontas County. Pocahontas came into the matchup 13–1, with their only loss coming to one of the top-ranked teams in Single-A, Tug Valley. Tucker pounced on Pocahontas from the opening tip, dropping 25 first-quarter points and holding the Warriors to just 7. Tucker’s pressure defense and hustle mindset were on full display as they continuously forced turnover after turnover. The Lady Mt. Lions would hold an impressive 32-point advantage over their opponent with a 46–14 lead at halftime. The one-sided tilt slightly evened out after the half, with Pocahontas finding some offensive rhythm and both teams scoring 15 points each as Tucker’s lead remained unchanged at 61–29. TCHS would kick it into cruise control for the final period, as Pocahontas would never be close in the matchup and Tucker posted a dominant and impressive win, 76–42.
