Robert Andrew Knotts, age 65 years, a native of Tucker County, WV and a resident of Staunton, VA departed this life Sunday, January 25, 2026, at the Princess Margaret Hospital, Nassau, Bahamas.

He was born Wednesday, August 10, 1960, at Parsons, WV, a son of the late Junior Ray Knotts and Cornell Elizabeth Gooding Knotts. On July 30, 1983, in Milton, WV at the Union Baptist Church, he was married to the former Jeannie Annette Godby, who survives. Robert regularly and repeatedly told Jeannie that she was the gift he had prayed for, and God had sent him.

Also surviving are one son, Anthony Joseph Valdez; three daughters, Alaina Knotts Roane and husband Michael, Tessa Lynette Quesenberry and husband Jared and Marla Knotts Snoddy and husband Chad; one brother, Tim Knotts; and nine grandchildren, Chase, Micayla, Carter, Sydney, Evelyn, Carolyn, Tucker, Cecelia and Lydia

Preceding him in death are one son, Curtis Andrew Knotts; one brother, Donald Knotts; and two sisters, Elizabeth Evans and Geraldine Auvil.

He was a graduate of Parsons High School with the class of 1978. He was a Veteran of the United States Army from 1978-1982 and US Army Reserves from 1982-1986 and US National Guard from 1986-1990. He was a former employee of Dominion Energy, where he retired after working for thirty-six years. Robert was an active member of Memorial Baptist Church where he served as deacon and greeter. He also participated in many mission trips and volunteer opportunities in his community and beyond. Robert was often found working diligently in the background, preferring to remain behind the scenes. Robert looked forward to turkey and deer hunting and helping on the family farm back home in Sugarlands, WV. He loved this time of connection with family and friends. He enjoyed sharing his craft of apple butter and salsa making with others. Robert and Jeannie enjoyed traveling together and were blessed to take several “trips of a lifetime,” including to the Grand Canyon, Europe, and Isreal. They also spent many weekends camping with their family. He was a world-renowned s’mores maker. Robert loved the Lord and sought His audience every morning. He started his day on his knees in prayer, praying faithfully for his family, friends and all those around him. He studied his Bible daily, meditating on Scripture and studying the commentary. Robert’s heartfelt desire would be for anyone learning of his passing to hear the message of God’s love for each of us and desire to be in relationship with Him.

The family will receive friends at the First Baptist Church in Parsons, WV on Monday, February 9, 2026, from 4 PM to 7 PM. On Tuesday Morning, February 10, 2026, friends may call from 9 AM until 11 AM the funeral hour. Pastor Cecil Hines, The Reverend Mike Winters, and the Rev. Todd Godby will officiate and interment will follow at the Parsons City Cemetery at Parsons, WV where full military honors will be provided by the WV National Guard Honor Guard Program and the Tucker County Veterans Association. There will be a Celebration of Life at the Memorial Baptist Church, 224 Taylor Street, Staunton, VA 24401 on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at 11:00 AM. The Lohr & Barb Funeral Home is honored to be in charge of the arrangements for Robert Andrew Knotts. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.lohrbarbfuneralhome.com.
