Several youth basketball teams from Tucker County made the trip to the Grant County All-Star Invitational Tournament this past weekend, and the young athletes represented their community well across multiple divisions.

Four Tucker County travel teams competed in the event, featuring three boys teams across different grade divisions and one girls team. Each squad battled through tough competition and showcased the development, effort, and teamwork that have become a point of pride for the county’s youth basketball programs.

The 5th/6th grade boys team turned in one of the tournament’s standout runs. Competing in a very deep and competitive bracket, the team fought its way through multiple games to earn a spot in the championship. After a solid showing throughout the weekend, the group finished as tournament runner-up, capping off an impressive performance against some of the region’s top youth talent.

Tucker County also celebrated a championship performance from its 4th grade girls team. The young Lady Mt. Lions played with energy and determination throughout the tournament, ultimately coming out on top and bringing home the championship trophy. Their effort highlighted strong defense and growing confidence on the court.

The other Tucker County boys teams also represented well in their respective divisions, competing hard and gaining valuable experience against strong competition.

For many of the players, the Grant County All-Star Invitational marked the beginning of the travel basketball season. Tournaments provide an important opportunity for players to continue developing key skills such as confidence, work ethic, teamwork, and overall fundamentals.

As the travel season continues, Tucker County’s youth teams will look to build on this early success while continuing to grow and represent their community throughout the region.
