In the article Davis Mayor Tomson Testifies Before Congressional Subcommittee that ran in the March 18th edition of the Parsons Advocate, Mayor Tomson said that the parcel of land where the current Big Timer Logging Camp is, was an EPA Brownfields site. It has since come to light, that the site was contracted for UST removal via a DEP approved UST contractor by Pete Johnson, a private contractor, under direct supervision of the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection. Thrasher Engineering was also involved in an Environmental study of the area in 2007, paid for by the contractor. Johnson has also informed the Advocate that he no longer owns the parcel of land, has no interest in it and that the current owner is Eric Cvechko.
