Barbara Burns, of Preston County, along with her daughter, Amanda Hershman and daughter-in-law, Kim Delsignore, are the new proprietors of the Tucker Country Inn.

Burns said she shops in Parsons all the time and noticed the for lease sign on the business as she passed by. She said, “This is something I have always wanted to do, so now is the time.” She also stated, “It is good to work with family, so having my daughter and daughter-in-law with me will be great.”

The opening date for the restaurant will be Wednesday, Jan. 21 with hours from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday. Menu items will consist of a lot of home cooked meals. Meatballs and pork barbecue will be slow cooked to perfection with homemade sauces.

Along with the restaurant, the motel now has ten rooms available and all the rooms have been fully refurbished.

Burns, along with her husband, had been in the logging business for a number of years. Delsignore is retired from Wal-Mart with 20 years of service and has also worked in the Preston County School system for four years. Hershman was a pharmacy tech at UHC Hospital in Clarksburg.
