Tucker County High School’s track and field teams delivered an impressive performance at the Buckhannon-Upshur meet on April 14, highlighted by multiple first-place finishes and strong relay showings on both the boys’ and girls’ sides.
The Mountain Lions boys team was led by standout sprinter Reid Kisamore, who swept the short sprints with first-place finishes in both the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes. Luke Barb also had a dominant day in the field events, capturing first place in both the long jump and high jump.
Nate Ricottilli contributed a first-place finish in the 400-meter dash and added a fourth-place effort in the 200-meter. Teammate Keelyn Eichelberger placed third in the 400-meter, while Cameron Judy secured seventh in the same event.
In distance events, Draven Bunnell placed third in the 1600-meter run and second in the 3200-meter run, while William Gilligan followed with fourth in the 1600 and third in the 3200. Alex Collar added a fourth-place finish in the 800-meter run, with Lynk Suesli placing seventh.
The boys relay teams also turned in great showings. The quartet of Luke Barb, Keelyn Eichelberger, Nate Ricottilli, and Reid Kisamore placed third in the 4×100-meter relay and claimed first in the 4×200-meter relay. In longer relays, Alex Collar, Landon Wilfong, Cameron Judy, and Lynk Suesli finished second in the 4×400-meter relay and took first in the 4×800-meter relay.
On the girls’ side, Lela Wright led the way on the track, finishing second in both the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes. Mayah Gross had a standout meet as well, earning first place in discus and finishing fourth in the 400-meter dash.
Livey Mayne placed third in the long jump and eighth in the 100-meter dash, while Rileigh Russell took third in shot put and fifth in discus. Kenah Griffith added a sixth-place finish in the 400-meter.
Distance runner Addi Moats delivered a strong display with a third-place finish in the 800-meter run and second in the 1600-meter run. Rachel Hile contributed with a third-place finish in the 300-meter hurdles.
The girls relay teams were equally impressive. The team of Mayah Gross, Addi Moats, Rachel Hile, and Lela Wright placed second in the 4×100-meter relay. Wright, Livey Mayne, Hile, and Gross combined for a first-place finish in the 4×200-meter relay, while Moats, Mayne, Griffith, and Hile secured another first-place finish in the shuttle hurdle relay.
The teams will be back in action on April 21s again at Buckhannon Upshur and at Doddridge High School on the 24th.
