Sandra Kay “Sandy” Kisamore Hardy, 77, resident of Hambleton, was called home to the Lord on Sunday, April 19, 2026.

Born Friday, September 10, 1948, in Elkins to parents Warren G. and Sylvia Marie Huff Kisamore, Sandy grew up in Parsons alongside brother Neil Howard Kisamore, his wife Doris Kisamore, residents of Pifer Mountain, and Olivia Sylvia “Bitty” Kisamore Stone, resident of Thomas, who preceded her in death.

She is survived by the love of her life, Thomas Daniel Hardy. Married on September 25, 1964, in Oakland, Maryland, their union produced two children, Tammy Lea Hardy Carr, resident of Montrose alongside husband Randy Alfred Carr, and Brenda Kay Hardy Flanagan, resident of Holiday, Florida alongside husband Brian Thomas Flanagan.

Sandy spent her formative years working in local factories, including Reid Board Brothers and Parsons Footwear. When the latter closed its doors, she returned to school, then began a decades long career for the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in Bridgeport. She retired in 2018.

Sandy and Tom shared a lifelong passion for racing. In 1978, they became founding members of Tucker County 4 Wheelers, the organization responsible for the Challenge in the Hills, a premier sand drag and mud-bogging event held annually in Parsons.

An energetic, endlessly kind, and generous woman, Sandy leaves behind extended family, friends, neighbors, trusted confidants, and others far too numerous to mention in this limited space. Her joy, her laughter, and her spirit live on in the hearts and minds of all who were lucky enough to know her.

Caring for animals was a great joy in Sandy’s life. She leaves behind two beautiful dogs. As such, in lieu of flowers, her family notes that donations in her memory sent to the Tucker County Animal Shelter, 586 Brooklyn Heights Rd, Parsons, WV 26287 will be gratefully accepted.

In accordance with her wishes, Sandy will be cremated. For those who wish to attend, a celebration of her remarkable life will be held, though an exact date has yet to be determined.

The Hostetler Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements for Sandra Kay “Sandy” Kisamore Hardy. Send online condolences to the family at www.hostetlerfuneralhome.com.
