Tucker Valley Middle School’s softball team played just one game last week, a home matchup against Barbour County. The Lady Wildcats jumped out big in the first inning to the tune of seven earned runs while holding their opponents to zero. Barbour County attempted to make a game of it as they scored four runs to start the second inning while Tucker went three up and three down, making the score 7-4. Tucker would hold Barbour scoreless the remainder of the game while scoring runs of two, four, and six to put the game away early at 19-4. Mia Lambert, Morgan Simmons, and Jacey Helmick each crossed home plate three times to set the pace for the Wildcats. Tucker Valley’s last scheduled game is set for May 7 at home against West Preston Middle, with some possible makeup games to come this week as well.
