TC Retired School Personnel meeting May 20
The Tucker County Retired School Personnel will meet on Wednesday, May 20 at 12:00 noon at the Parsons Senior Center and will be a work session of mailings. Lunch is available at 11:30 if you wish. All retirees are welcome.
Art Spring All You Can Eat Breakfast
The International Order of Odd Fellows is sponsoring a breakfast on Saturday May 23 at the IOOF lodge at 5th & Thomas St. in Davis. The menu will include sausage patties, pancakes with maple syrup, scrambled eggs, sausage gravy and biscuits. Coffee, juice, or Tang will be included. The price of breakfast is $10 for adults, $5 for children 12 years and under, and children under 6 years are free. Breakfast will begin at 7a.m. and end at noon or until sold out.
Grand Opening
Join Friends of Blackwater for the grand opening of the Blackwater Exhibit: Stories from the Railroad Era, on Saturday, May 23 from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. at Rudolph’s (300 East Avenue) in downtown Thomas. This free event invites you to explore local artifacts, interactive films, and historical signage that bring the region’s railroad heritage to life. Enjoy light refreshments while you experience the stories that shaped Blackwater Canyon. Special guest speaker at 3 p.m.
Memorial Day Dinner
The Hambleton Community Church will have the annual Memorial Day Dinner on Sunday, May 24 starting at noon. Come join us.
Revival
The Sycamore Grove Church, located on Bull Run Road, Parsons, will be having a revival on Friday, May 29, Saturday, May 30 and Sunday, May 31. The speaker will be Rev. Rhonda Skipper and we welcome all to come.
Five Rivers Public Library Summer Reading Program

Readers will have an exciting time this summer as we have fun with Unearth a Story. Our themes this year are Dino-Mite Adventures, Construction: Dig, Dump Build, and Soil & Roots: Down in the dirt – where roots begin. Five Rivers Public Library presents “Unearth a Story” during their summer library program. Wednesdays @ 10 a.m., June 10th, 17th, 24th, June 26th (Party @ the park). Activities may include crafts, games, a story, and snacks! The 2026 Summer Reading Program is open to preschool through 5th grade (Younger and older siblings welcome) with programs, prize basket, reading time, and more.
