Tucker County High School’s 2026 softball season has come to an end. The Mt. Lions wouldn’t go down without a fight as they dispatched their first-round opponent, the Pocahontas County Warriors. Tucker pounded the ball in the first two innings, earning five runs in each to go up 10-0 early. Keisha Arnold led all batters with three hits and an RBI, while Peyton Hicks and Bella Loucks notched two hits each. Hicks had the hot hand on the night, as the junior righty tossed a no-hitter, allowing zero hits, zero runs, and zero errors. With the 11-0 victory, Tucker took to the road to take on the #1 seed in the region, Pendleton County. The Mt. Lions failed to collect a hit in the game, which led to their ultimate downfall in a 15-0 loss.

With the loss, Tucker was scheduled to return home for a second bout with Pocahontas County. The Warriors chose not to make the trip or partake in the matchup, giving Tucker the win and setting up a regional championship match with Pendleton. Tucker did collect two hits, one each from Hicks and Loucks, but again, Pendleton was too much for Tucker, ending the Mt. Lions’ season with a 12-0 loss.

The Mt. Lions finished the season with an overall record of 6-14 and look forward to their 2027 campaign.
